Hayk Oltaci is a restorer, weaver, and cultural advocate with more than 40 years dedicated to the preservation of textile heritage. His journey spans Istanbul, Strasbourg, New York, and Yerevan, a path that shaped his craft and philosophy of flow:

“The universe flows like a river; when we move with its current, we find our purpose.”

Hayk is the founder of Woolway Studios in Armenia, a creative center for natural dyeing, weaving, and antique rug restoration, as well as the Woolway Studios Hotel and Woolway Art Café, which support artisans and cultural exchange.

He is also the founder of Hayko Fine Rugs & Tapestries in New York, known for meticulous restoration and a welcoming, educational space for collectors and visitors.

Across all his work, Hayk’s mission is simple:
to revive traditional craft, preserve cultural memory, and inspire the next generation of makers.
